WORD FROM THE GUARDIAN/PET
After seeing pictures of this breed online, I decided I absolutely had to have one. It was ordered by train, from Ontario. I picked it up on my way out of the Bell Center after a game in which Richard Zednik had scored a goal (I forget the exact date) - so I named it Zednik.
The spider was delivered to me in a small pill box. It was no larger than the normal household spider... but that quickly changed.
After the summer of 2005, which was rough on the spider's health, Zednik began refusing food until it passed away. Its lifespan was not so bad given males don't last over 3 years.
